SDM's Founder, Darius Brooks

After garnering Grammy, Stellar and Dove awards over his 25 years in the music industry, Darius Brooks founded SDM Foundation for Education and the Arts. Darius Brooks, a man who has been one of Gospel's great driving; creative forces has an international reach that extends to Great Britain, Sweden, Scandinavia, Italy, South Africa and Germany.

Brooks is best known for placing such treasures in gospel music history as "Safe in His Arms," "My Mind's Made Up," "For the Good of Them," "If I Be Lifted" and many others. The widespread affection for his 2004 release "Your Will" accelerated Darius' career with numerous television appearances, including his performance and nomination at the 19th Annual Stellar Awards.

Don Jackson, CEO, Chairman of Central City Productions had this to say, "My decision to have him perform on the Stellar Awards was right on target because the biggest response we received from that show was in reference to Darius' great performance and stage presence."

He has worked with Aretha Franklin, jazz legend Ramsey Lewis, the late Rev. Milton Brunson and the Thompson Community Singers, as well as, Vickie Winans, Shirley Caesar, Stevie Wonder, and Avant, to name but a few as either a songwriter, singer, accompanist, arranger or producer. Darius has thrived in almost every musical capacity imaginable.

Darius currently serves as Senior Pastor of Grace Central Church in Westchester, IL, CEO of JMG (Journey Music Group), Musical Director for Reverend Jesse Jackson's Rainbow PUSH Coalition in Chicago, IL and mentors vocalists and musicians through his non-profit foundation, SDM Foundation for Education and the Arts.
